Harris Tweed is a unique handwoven fabric much sought after by major designers and fashion houses worldwide and has a rich heritage as being a premium product associated with luxury as well as being practical, hard-wearing and durable.
ABOUT HARRIS TWEED
"Harris Tweed is the only fabric in the world governed by its own Act of Parliament. Genuine Harris Tweed bears the Orb Certification Mark approved by its custodians the Harris Tweed Authority. This mark guarantees that the tweed to which it is applied has been made from 100% virgin wool which has been dyed and spun on the islands and handwoven at the home of the weaver in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Finally, the cloth is returned to the mill on the island for washing and finishing. Only then is the cloth inspected and authenticated by the Harris Tweed Authority with the Orb Stamp.
Harris Tweed is synonymous with luxury, quality and style. It has a rich history, heritage and provenance. Harris Tweed is used throughout the world by leading designers for clothing, interior furnishings and accessories."
